Connected vehicle and asset solutions company Geotab has expanded its platform with the Geotab Sustainability Centre and EV Charge Monitoring, providing fleet managers with a centralised hub to track sustainability metrics and optimise electric vehicle (EV) operations.
The sustainability centre enables fleet managers to monitor, report and act on key data, including fuel consumption, emissions, idling trends and electrification potential. By consolidating these insights into a single platform, it helps improve efficiency, reduce costs and minimise environmental impact.
With rising business costs, organisations – particularly those in construction – are increasingly relying on data to enhance resilience. Geotab developed the sustainability centre to address this need, offering management and sustainability teams a dedicated resource for cost control, compliance and operations.
“Even small changes like monitoring idling can have a big impact on operations. The Geotab Sustainability Centre empowers fleets with precise data insights to take actions that translate into lower costs while supporting their environmental goals,” said Megan Allen, senior group product manager at Geotab.
Geotab Sustainability Centre
Designed to streamline fleet sustainability efforts, the sustainability centre offers a dashboard that helps companies maximise fuel savings, reduce carbon emissions and simplify compliance. It complements the existing MyGeotab, Safety and Maintenance centres.
Key features include:
- Idling trends: Understand idling time, fuel waste and identify idling hotspots.
- Fuel metrics: Assess total fuel and EV energy use, as well as fuel and EV energy economy.
- Emissions trends: Track the effectiveness of emissions reduction strategies, such as anti-idling campaigns and electrification.
- Electrification insights: Get a snapshot of how many vehicles in the fleet are best fit for replacement with EVs.
Geotab also recently introduced a Greenhouse Gas Emissions Report using a TÜV Rheinland-certified calculation method to track Scope 1 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from fleet vehicles. It provides near real-time emissions data for accurate and transparent climate disclosures related to the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and other frameworks.
EV Charge Monitoring
To minimise operational disruptions, Geotab’s EV Charge Monitoring provides real-time insights into fleet charge status, ensuring vehicles are charged and ready when needed. It enables fleets to identify and resolve charging issues early, maximise uptime and realise the fuel cost savings and operational benefits of electrification.
With this tool, fleets can:
- Identify and resolve charging problems before they disrupt operations.
- Manage a queue of vehicles waiting to charge, even when there is a limited number of available stations.
- Make informed dispatch decisions based on charge status.
- Realise the fuel cost savings related to getting EVs on the road.
Both the Geotab Sustainability Centre and EV Charge Monitoring are integrated within MyGeotab, supporting secure and data-driven fleet management across the public and private sectors.
