Australia’s top contractors have come together to offer women from outside the industry the opportunity to explore live construction sites as part of the It’s Possible campaign.
With support from the NSW Government, the Australian Constructors Association (ACA) launched the campaign today to encourage mid-career women to consider a future in construction.
ACA CEO Jon Davies said many women either overlook construction as a career or have reservations about entering the industry.
“We hear time and time again that women don’t apply for jobs because they don’t tick every box. The It’s Possible campaign shows women that they already have the skills to thrive in construction,” said Davies. “If we can give women the chance to visit our sites and experience it for themselves, they’ll see that construction has fantastic opportunities for everyone.”

The campaign shares stories of women who have successfully made the switch, including Moreta, who left a desk job as a claims manager for a hands-on career in construction.
“Before construction, I was a claims manager. I was stuck at a desk all day and needed a change. What I like most about construction is the job variety; every day is different. And if anyone says ‘women can’t work in construction,’ it’s not true. More and more women are joining the industry.”
Women are invited to sign up for exclusive tours of four major infrastructure projects in New South Wales, offering a firsthand look at live construction sites, insight into daily operations, and the chance to hear from women who have successfully transitioned into the industry.
“This is the perfect opportunity to see for yourself what construction can offer,” said Davies. “Take the first step – sign up today and discover a career that could change your life.”
Funded by the NSW Government’s Women in Construction Industry Innovation Program, the It’s Possible initiative offers site tours at the following projects:
- Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport (WSI) (CPB Contractors) – Wednesday, 12 March
