KONE Australia has introduced the High-Rise MiniSpace DX, an elevator system designed to optimise space, improve efficiency and streamline people flow in buildings of any height.

This cutting-edge solution will debut in BLVD, the third tower of OSK Property’s Melbourne Square precinct, currently under construction by Multiplex.

The High-Rise MiniSpace DX offers several advantages, including maximising usable floor space by providing an extra floor, enhancing tenant appeal and building efficiency. Its engineering enables increased capacity and speed within elevator shafts, while minimising pit depths, headroom and motor room heights. These features address the challenges of attracting tenants in a competitive post-COVID market with higher supply and lower demand.

Robert Haig, head of major projects at KONE, highlighted the system’s importance: “The launch of the KONE MiniSpace DX at Melbourne Square represents a significant advancement in vertical transportation. This innovation not only improves energy efficiency but also enhances the overall user experience by optimising people flow. As builders seek ways to reduce building costs and developers seek to attract environmentally conscious tenants, this new next-generation solution stands as a key component in modern building strategies.”

Key features of the High-Rise MiniSpace DX include:

  • Space optimisation – Provides an additional floor of usable space, increasing building appeal.
  • Enhanced performance – Delivers higher speed and capacity, improving people flow and minimising downtime.
  • Energy efficiency – Rated ISO 25745 A class and VDI 4707 A class, resulting in lower energy use and operational costs.
  • Sustainable design – Utilises KONE UltraRope technology to reduce carbon emissions and improve green building ratings.

Melbourne Square will feature five High-Rise MiniSpace DX elevators, one KONE N MonoSpace elevator, and three KONE JumpLift 1000s. These solutions facilitate early lift access during construction, accelerating project timelines and enhancing onsite safety.

The High-Rise MiniSpace DX is designed to elevate tenant satisfaction with reliable performance and KONE’s predictive maintenance technology, which identifies potential issues proactively to ensure optimal elevator uptime.

KONE’s commitment to sustainability is evident in every aspect of the MiniSpace DX, from its energy-efficient design to streamlined maintenance processes. This next-generation solution contributes to a lower carbon footprint while boosting building value and operational efficiency.
