Lendlease secures new tenant for Victoria Cross Tower

Ventia has signed up for two floors of the Victoria Cross Tower, the flagship commercial building within Lendlease’s new integrated station precinct in North Sydney.

The essential infrastructure services provider will occupy approximately 3,500 square metres across levels 26 and 27 of the Victoria Cross Tower, which is currently under construction. Ventia intends to fit-out the modern workplace with a design that will promote collaboration and connection.

Tom Mackellar, managing director development at Lendlease, emphasised the evolving preferences of tenant partners across the company’s commercial portfolio, highlighting a consistent demand for workplace experiences that attract and retain the best talent and support productivity.

“Which is why we’re seeing a growing demand for premium-grade workplaces in prime locations that prioritise sustainability, flexibility and amenity,” said Mackellar.

“With doorstep access to transport and a focus on wellness and sustainability, Victoria Cross Tower represents the next generation of office that high-performing companies are looking for.”

Situated directly above the new Sydney Metro station, the 42-storey Victoria Cross Tower will provide 58,000 square metres of high-tech, flexible, premium-grade office space, accommodating up to 7,000 workers.

Designed by Bates Smart, the tower will feature customisable floorplates designed to maximise natural light and support collaborative work environments. The majority of floors will showcase views of iconic Sydney landmarks, including the Harbour, Sydney Harbour Bridge and CBD.

The surrounding Victoria Cross precinct will boast new public spaces and host 20 retail and hospitality brands, with 14 opening later this year in the concourse and a new pedestrian laneway.

At the heart of the precinct, the new pedestrian laneway will provide a hospitality and recreation hotspot, with activity beyond nine to five, anchored by Miller House, a multi-level food and beverage destination.

Scheduled to open in 2024, the Sydney Metro Victoria Cross station will transform the precinct into one of the most accessible business districts, significantly reducing transit times to Barangaroo to three minutes, Martin Place to five minutes, and Central Station to nine minutes. This enhanced connectivity will unlock new talent pools for businesses and bring new areas of the city closer to North Sydney.

The Victoria Cross Tower is positioned to be one of North Sydney’s most well-connected and sustainable workplaces. It is poised to achieve net-zero carbon emissions, and be all-electric, powered by 100 per cent renewable energy. The project is also pursuing a Platinum WELL and 6-Star Green Star rating.

Lendlease’s flagship Australian office fund, APPF Commercial, owns 25 per cent of Victoria Cross Tower. This fund invests in sustainable, premium precincts aligned with the global trend towards vibrant and collaborative workplaces.

The completion of the Victoria Cross Tower is anticipated in 2025.
